If your kids are like mine, they’re counting down the days until the end of the school year. See you later, crowded buses! Adios, homework! Hello, sunny skies and warm weather! Here we go, summer camps and vacations! For many families, however, even with all that excitement (or perhaps because of it?!), the shifting routines and relative lack of structure can pose unexpected behavior challenges. SEPTA is here to help. Thanks to the support of our members and friends, we’re pleased to welcome Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor, Mandy Lloyd, to our June monthly meeting to offer a free workshop discussing “Summer Survival Strategies.” It’s just one great example of the terrific programming your membership and fundraising dollars make possible!
The meeting will start at 7 pm with SEPTA business and elections for our 2016-17 leadership positions. (We always welcome member participation. Let us know if you’re interested in joining the team!) Then, at 7:30, Mandy will lead us through an interactive workshop to help us learn practical, effective strategies to cope with the stress and experience more moments of joy this summer. Who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and pick up some new tips? I know I am. Hope to see you there.
June 9, 2016, 7-9 pm at the Syphax Education Center, 2110 Washington Blvd., Arlington, VA 22204

- We’d love to hear from members who were able to watch the Periscope broadcast, to help identify any issues or troubleshooting for future meetings. Last time, we had some WiFi issues that prevented the live broadcast, so we appreciate your bearing with us as we work out the kinks!
