Please join us for our monthly SEPTA meeting this Thursday, May 12, 7-8:30 pm at the Syphax Education Center in Arlington.
In honor of National Mental Health Awareness month, we will welcome representatives of the Arlington County Department of Health to discuss Children’s mental health and mental illness issues and services. In addition, ServiceSource‘s Autism Services Program Coordinator, Theresa Piccolo, will explain the “Aspiring. Skilled. Determined” (ASD) program, which helps individuals on the autism spectrum ages 16+ to get and maintain employment through one-on-one supports and soft skills groups.
We will have printed Thank You cards from the Virginia Lottery Thank a Teacher program at the meeting. You are welcome — and very much encouraged — to take some cards with you to hand-write and distribute to your children’s teachers. And finally (drumroll, please):
This meeting will be broadcast on Periscope for those who can’t attend in person!
- If you have a Twitter account, please follow @ArlingtonSEPTA.
- When the meeting begins at 7:00 pm we will tweet out the Periscope link.
- If you are not a Twitter user, simply visit ArlingtonSEPTA’s Twitter page at 7 PM (or any time after) and click the link associated with the broadcast, which should be the top/most recent message on those pages.
- You can follow the stream via this link on a computer, tablet, or phone.
- If you wish to participate and ask questions during the meeting, you will need to have a Twitter account and access the stream using the Periscope app, which is available for both iOS and Android devices.
- After the meeting we plan to post a link to the archive broadcast on the Arlington SEPTA webpage, Twitter, and Facebook accounts.
- We’d love to hear from members who were able to watch the Periscope broadcast, to help identify any issues or troubleshooting for future meetings. Thanks!
